ADFD New Release "Super Hero" and Metallic Challenge

Greetings!

Happy Friday everyone!  Today is another new release from ADFD as well as a new challenge.  Tammy has created an adorable collection titled Super Hero.  I chose to work with two of these images, Classic Hero and Pup Hero for my card.  We had to also use metallic in our creation for this week's challenge, which went perfectly with these images.  Here's a look at what I came up with...

Aren't these adorable and fun?!  What perfect images for a guy card.  I was thinking of a card that would work well for one of our returning soliders and then thought to add a birthday twist to it too.

Recipe:
Images: ADFD New Release "Super Hero"
Ink:  Copics
Sentiment:  ME!
Cardstock:  SU, (the metallic paper is from Michaels)
Embossing Folder:  Stars
Punch/Die Cut:  EK Success Star punch, Spellbinders Long Rectangles, Shapez Star

As usual, you can pick these precious images up from the ADFD store (along with the entire set). While you are there color one of them up and enter your creation in our "Metallic" challenge for a chance to win a $12 store credit. You can also check us out on FB, CDAC, PCP, and the Crafter's Cafe.

Things that go Boo and happy birthday wishes too...

Greetings!

It is almost Friday!!  Woohoo!  I so look forward to the weekend.  I am so exhausted lately (trying to fight this yucky flu).

Today I am sharing two cards with you that are similar in color, but different in theme.  I have used the adorable images from Torico, which if you haven't visited her sight...you're missing out.  She makes the most adorable images and I love playing with them.  Today I used her Monsters (you can find in her Etsy store) and her freebie Party Chicks.  I created these cards using the color pallette over on ColorQ.  I don't get to play often over there, but when I can I am always inspired to create something fun. lol  You should check it out if you are in a color rut. :-)

This new blog was designed just for the new crafter.  You will find post on techniques, products and basic terminology/techniques.  There will be videos, tutorials and several how-tos.  We offer you a Language Library that has terminology and explanations of abbreviations used throughout the craft community.  Not to mention other resources that will help you navigate through the crafting world.  Crafting is a FUN hobby and we don't want you to enjoy it.

We hope that you will join us over at A Crafting Start and tell your friends about it too.

Happy Friday!  I hope your Friday is going well.  I am doing quick post to showcase ADFD's new Images from the Animal Masks collection.  I chose to work with the little donkey image for my creation.

Isn't he adorable?  I love how precious this little guy is and tried to add texture to his fur with the coloring.  I am still learning how to color animals with the Copics. :-)

And to godliness brotherly kindness...

Greetings!

...and to brotherly kindness love.    2 Peter 1:7 (AMP)
I interrupt my regularly scheduled post to bring your attention to the badge on my sidebar, titled "Crafting prayers for Katie."  You have probably seen this around (or will very soon).  Just click on the badge and follow the link to learn how you can help Katie and her family and to read her story.

If you are unable to make a purchase, you can still help out by sending lots and lots of PRAYERS!  I can't imagine going through this or having a love one that is going through what Katie and her family is enduring.  However, I rest in the assurance that God heals all, mends all, and loves all!  Do whatever you feel comfortable doing, but please remember that prayers are priceless!

God bless,

Candy

ScrapOrchard "Wild Thing"

Greetings!

Hope your day is going great!  Today I want to share with you a card I made using EarthArt International's Jaguar.  You can find EarthArt digital images over at ScrapOrchard along with some other really cool digital items.  I needed to make a simple card for a male and this is what I came up with.

Since it was a male card it was easy to keep it simple (although I got carried away with doodling).  I did want to incorporate texture, so I added the strip of animal print paper and cut the Jaguar out instead of matting him on aother sheet of cardstock.  I really wanted to show how versatile these images are and how you can not color them or slightly color them and get some remarkable results.

MO's DP2 Challenge - Song lyrics Inspired Creations

Greetings!

Happy Monday!

I am here to share a creation with you using Mo's Dani and Friends set image.  The DP2 challenge requires that you use a song to inspire your creation.  This idea has been in my head for a very long time now and this challenge allowed it to blossom.  I chose Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten" to inspire this notebook cover.  I love this song and the lyrics really speak to me and this image really captured it all (in my opinion).

Recipe:

Sentiment:  Natasha Bedinfield lyrics "Unwritten"
DP:  Notebook, stash
Ink:  Copics
Diecuts:  Spellbinders-Circle, Circle Eyelet, Butterfly
Accessories:  Ribbon SU, Gems

I loved how this turned out and will probably work on some more.  It was fun to incorporate the lyrics from a song into my work.  I love music, writing and creating so they went together so well.

Happy Friday!  It seems to be like it took forever to get here. lol  I kept thinking yesterday was today and it just had me all scrambled in the head.  Anyways, it is time for ADFD's challenge and new release.  Today we are playing with the adorable  "It's a Child's World" images.

Doesn't this image just make you wish for sweet dreams?  I think it captures the innocence of childhood.  I wanted to honor that feeling by using colorful papers and I even added more sweet goodies by Tammy.

THANK YOU post!!

Greetings!

I am not posting any cards today, but instead I just wanted to pop in and say THANK YOU!  I would like to thank all my e-buddies for following me, commenting and just being a joy to get-to-know.

Also, I want to thank all the DTs over at The Outlawz Challenge site.  If you didn't know, this past week they held an AWESOME 1,000 member party.  They had tons of rockin' sponsors who gave away some ridiculously FAB stuff!  I won a Coloring me Creative Classroom Copic class with Suzanne Dean.  I took a couple classes with her in person (I believe it was her first on the road classes) here in Michigan, so this is the cherry on top. lol  I also won an opportunity to have a blog banner designed by Pezadoodle.  It's like an early Christmas!

I would like to also thank two of my e-buddies, as well as DT members for The Outlawz, Ms. Trina and Ms. Sara.  You both rock!!  Thank you for telling me about the challenge and the awesome group over there.  I will definitely be hanging out there more often.

Well, that is all I have for now.  Check back tomorrow for ADFD's New Release and Challenge post.  Have a great weekend!!

Mo's DP2 Challenge: Quilt Pattern

Greetings!

Happy Saturday!  I am quickly dropping in to show you a creation I made using Mo's Urchin girl with bird and little drummer boy image.  I will be entering this creation in the DP2 Challenge which the theme this week is "Quilt" pattern.

For the background, I used Wax Fruit Company's heart quilt piece and digitally paperpieced the individual squares.  I love how it turned out and wish I would have showed the heart in the center off more, but I have ideas for doing another one. :-)

ADFD New Release "Vintage Halloween"

Greetings!

Happy Friday everyone!  I am going to make this a quick post (at least try to), because the sun is shining and birds are singing outside and I want to play. lol  I bring to you today the new release set from ADFD entitled "Vintage Halloween."  This set is stuffed full of images that range from vintage (as the name implies) to down right cute.  The cutie that I chose to work with today is the lil pumpkin.  This little adorable guy looks like maybe he wanted to dressed like a vampire; however, his mother thought he would make the most adorble pumpkin...and she was right!

I had a blast digitally paper piecing this lil pumpkin.  He just looks so round and cute. lol

I used the layout from Monday MoJo.  I will be entering him in their contest and fingers crossed maybe he will get picked, but if not at least people will get to see how cute he is. :-)

Mo's Kimono for DP2 "Furry Friends" Challenge

Greetings!

Happy first Monday in October!  I guess it is officially time to get started on those Christmas cards.  Yikes!  Well, they will have to wait a little while longer, because I'm just not ready. lol  Before I show you my creation using Mo's Kimono, I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Cheryl Joshua of My Card Haven for the wonderful goodies she sent me this past weekend.  I have used some of the papers for my creation.  Cheryl was assisting in raising funds for Lyndall and I purchased digis to help out.  You probably have seen other blogs that were doing the same.  Well, I am glad that I could help out in some small way.

Okay, I don't know if you guys do this or how often, but I decided to take inventory of my "Mo" digis.  I did this for two reasons.  The first reason is because I won the DP2 challenge last week and didn't want to get a duplicate image.  Second reason for this was because I kept seeing cards that I made a long time ago using certain images, but couldn't recall where the images went. lol  I managed to get some of my "Mo" images in a folder and am still on a quest to locate the others.  Well, this quest led me to the Kimono image I used in this creation.  I hadn't seen her for a while and thought she would fit this challenge perfectly.  The paper became my inspiration for the entire card, which rarely happens to me.  I can't thank Cheryl enough for sending me this beautiful package.

Well, thank you for stopping bye.  I hope your Monday is peaceful and filled overflowing with happiness!!
