Mo's DP2 Challenge: Steffi's (End of Summer) Meltdown

Greetings!

Happy Saturday (of a long Holiday weekend)!  I can't believe that Summer is over soon.  Where did the time go?  Over at Mo's DP2 Challenge this week the theme is "Goodbye Summer" and I had a card in mind; however, when I scrolled through all my Mo images, Steffi spoke to me.  She totally summarizes how I feel about Summer ending way too soon.

Here's my creation...
Steffi's (end of) Summer Meltdown
As I stated above, I started out with a different image in mind totally.  However, when I saw poor little Steffi, we totally connected and I had to use her on this card.  She is truly devastated, as I am, that Summer just arrived and is now on it's way out.  I started out with a 4 x 12 piece of white Bazzill cardstock and layered on Kraft cardstock and pink and yellow cardstock.  I even threw in a bit of DP to tie all the colors together.  I stichted a couple of the background mats and then created a banner and flower using my Cameo.  I colored my sobbing cutie using Copics.  Lastly, I added a sentiment that pretty much sums up how I feel and Steffi agrees.

I have another project that I created that marks the end of Summer as well.  Those who know me, know that I LOVE to journal.  I have been journaling since I was a very very young.  I often go back years later and read my writings and have learned a lot about myself through my writings.  Well, this Summer I had a lot of happenings...took a long vacation, finally reached my weight loss goal of 100 pounds, found an exercise routine that works for me (and that I enjoy), etc. etc.  I had to capture all of this in a journal and decided to "design" my own journal rather than purchase one from the store.

Here's my journal...

I use another Mo image entitled "To the beach (aa)" for the cover of my book.  I started out covering a notebook I picked up from the dollar store with beach themed designer paper.  I matted my image to Kraft and White cardstock.  I used an ink pad to create some sand and sky.  I created a flower, heart, and banner using my Cameo.  The FAB wordart on the banner came from Create with TLC (thanks Paulette!).  I created the little Summer checklist to tie everything together and finished it off with some bling and ribbon on the edge. I colored my Beach Beauty using Copics and a gel pen.

TTCRD Challenge: Always Anything Goes

Greetings!

The new Sizzling Summer issue of TTCRD magazine is out! Check out the video above. It is packed with all kinds of inspiring goodies and even freebies. You will also get to see the second in my 5 part "Getting Digi with TTCRD" tutorial on using digital stamps using a freebie from Create with TLC.

I'm back with another post! This week over at TTCRD we our honored to have SKdigis as our sponsor this week. I used the beautiful birdhouse with vines image to create my card.

Here's my creation...

I created this card by cutting out the shape on my Cameo and then creating several layers using dp from Heartfelt Creations paper collection.  I added the gate fence with flourishes.  I mounted the image in front of a diecut from Spellbinder's and colored the image using my Copics and then went over it with glaze pens and clear gel.

I hope that you will join us for this week's challenge. We would love to have you play along with us and it is always anything goes.

Mo's DP2 Challenge: Happy 1st Birthday

Greetings!

I hope your week is going well and you are preparing for a 3 day holiday weekend!  My week ends tomorrow and I am so very HAPPY!  Speaking of happy, I am popping in to share a card I made (and designed) using Mo's Cupcake Boy.

Here's my card...

Cupcake Boy
I wanted to do something different and this design layout has been bouncing around in my head.  I cut a 5x5 piece of blue cardstock and matted it on a piece of 5 1/4 Kraft cardstock.  I also cut a piece of 4 x 10 1/2 cardstock that I then cut in half on the diagonal.  I scored those pieces at 1/2, 3 1/2, 5 and 8 (will have to confirm those).  I will provide a complete breakdown of the card in another post as it is a bit involved.  I layered dp and used my Cameo to cut out my lettering, banner and image.  I colored my image using Copics and then added gel and Stickles to his cupcake.  I finished him off by adding glaze to his shirt.

If you haven't seen or heard, Mo is having a GDT call so if you are interested you may want to pop over there and join in the fun!

I'm back....with Candy!!!

 Greetings!

I am back from vacation and boy what a vacation it turned out to be.  Let's see...I had to extend my stay because my mom became ill, found out my doctor made national news (and not for a good reason) and I became ill.  It never fails, I have yet to take a "true" vacation. *smile*

Despite all those things, God still has a way to put a smile on my face and the image I used on the card I made did it for me.  This cutie is called "Girly Girl Candy" (yep Candy as in me!) by Mo Manning.  I feel like a rockstar to know that Mo thought about me when she created her.

Sweet Life
I wanted to do something fun with her and decided to design this fun "candy" card using my Cameo. I came up with the color combo after I saw the dp and then added yellow to give it a pop.  I colored her using my Copic markers and added gel to her ribbon and bow.  I also added Stickles to her socks.  The awesome wordart "You make life sweet" came from none other than Paulette at Create with TLC.  She really does make life sweet with all the goodies she so generously gives away. *smile*

I purchased some other adorable images from Mo and can't wait to color them up and get back in the swing of things.
