ADFD New Challenge-Pastels (NO Pink)

Greetings!

Here's my creation for ADFD's new challenge and new release.  This week's challenge requires that you use pastel colors, but NO pink.  This proved to be a little bit more difficult than I had first thought.  I ended up using a light orange to supplement my pink.  I used one of the cuties from the new release set..."Tiny ones."

Head over to the challenge site for a chance to win a digi stamp of your choice and Tammy even gives you a freebie to use in the challenge.  There is no reason not to participate. :-D

I want to share with you another creation I made using Paulette's awesome "Alpha is for" wordart.  My sister teaches 1st grade (might have mentioned that before) and usually once a school year I will takeover her class and do a card class with them.  This year, due to scheduling problems, we weren't able to to do that, but I had already had these cards in my head to make with the little ankle-biters.  *gigl*

You can head over to Paulette's blog and check out these and so many other goodies she has available.  Also, while you are there check out her DT call.  I have had the pleasure of being one of her DTs for the past 3 months, which was truly a honor.  I love Paulette's work and respect her as a person.  I would start boo-hooing right now, but I know I can still visit her. :-D  *gigl*

Nettie G.'s Progressive Challenge Part 2

Greetings!

Happy Monday everyone!  I want to share with you the next creation in the Progressive Challenge over at Nettie G.'s Digital Gems.  If you didn't join in couple of weeks ago, you are truly missing out, but there is still time to jump in the fun.  This week I used DeeDee in her pjs.

This image would be perfect to use on a sleepover invitation, scrapbook page or even a "thank you" card to another parent for allowing your child to sleepover.  I think it is important to teach little ones how to write thank you cards at a young age.  It really amazes (and saddens) me how many young adults don't send a thank you note.  Oh well, I'm stepping off my soapbox.  This is a perfect little image and you can choose between DeeDee or CeeCee.

If you would like to get in on this round, it isn't too late.   All you have to do is purchase one of the girl's in their PJs, enter a project and you will then receive the next image free!

Image can be purchased...HERE.  Be sure to have your project entered by  Sunday, July 3, 2011,11:59 PM EST.  To join the challenge go to the Challenge Blog and link your creation.

You don't want to miss out on all the fun, so join us for Part 2 of the progressive challenge.

ADFD New Release - New Challenge - New World

Greetings!

Happy Friday!!  Whew, this has been a long week, but it is worth it because I have today off!!  Woohoo!  My poor neglected house is calling for me to give it a little T.L.C.  *gigl*  I will do that in a few, but right now I want to share with you what's "new" over at ADFD starting today.  We have a new release, a new challenge and a new world.  This week's challenge is to use a "new" technique that you've not used with digis before!

I have been playing with watercolor pencils for a little while now.  I've only created one card using them and found that they are a nice change to Copics.  I also recently discovered chalk.  I found that using a water color brush (from SU) and chalk could also be a neat way to change things up.

I went over the eyebrows and the spots on the Girafees with the a Q-tip and chalk and then went back over them to blend in the colors using the Water Color brush.  Be careful, you want to test it out before applying it to your project, because too much water will mess it up.  I also went over the Giraffees' spots with a Glaze pen to make it shiny.  I used my watercolor pencil to go over the dots in the background.  If you are using chalk it works best on dark paper.  Therefore, I utilized a paper bag as my dp and it was already cut to 81/2 x 11(bought it online) .  This is an excellent way to recycle and a cool twist to Kraft paper.  I created the sentiment and believes it works well with the image.

You can pick this adorable (and several others) here at the store.  Also, make sure to enter our challenge for a chance to win a FREE image of your choice.

Scrapper's Delight Designs

Greetings!

Happy Hump Day (a.k.a. Wednesday)!!  I am stopping by to say Hi and to share with you a creation from Scrapper's Delight Designs.  I have posted several images from the awesome artist Janice.  Today I want to share "Poppy" with you.  She is a red-hair Goddess! lol

(sentiment from Create w/ TLC)
I am very intimidated by coloring red-hair, but this image couldn't be anything but a red-haired (in my opinion) so I took the plunge.  I used Copic markers E08, E00 and E21, because when I googled to see what colors I should use when coloring red-hair...I didn't have any of them. lol  My apologies to all the red-haired who feel like I didn't do them justice.

You can snag this beauty (and several others) over at Scrapper's Delights Designs store.  I promise you that you will find several other goodies over there as well.  Janice is producing goodies daily and there is something there for everyone.  Tell her Candy sent you. :-D

Create with TLC

Greetings!

I hope your Tuesday is going well.  I am enjoying mine. :-D  It's 90 degrees and the sun is shining.  Mean old asthma isn't enjoying it, but I am thankful that it isn't snowing, raining or something along those lines. :-D

I want to show you a bunch of fun creations I made using either wordart or images from Paulette over at Create with TLC.  I use so much of Paulette's awesome creations in my work that I sometimes forget to share them.  I know shame on me.  *gigl*

Okay, this first creation is my Twisted Triangle card (if you would like the toot, email me at cardsbycandy@yahoo.com).  I used Paulette's "You're Grape" set.

This creation was made using Paulette's awesome doilies that she was giving away as freebies on her blog.  I cut the doily up and layered it (I have a toot for this as well if you are interested, email me).  The little picture in the corner of my creation shows you the layers.  I made 4 layers; however, I could have gotten 6 or 7 layers out of it.

These creations were made using Paulette's awesome Subway Art Blocks.  They are so versatile and fun to use.  I colored my blocks in, but you could have just highlighted one section or left them all blank.  The quilt in the second creation is from Arielle over at Wax Fruit Company.  If you haven't visited her, you should.  She has some awesome creations!

These cards use Paulette's sentiments.  It amazes me how she always has something to fit what I need.  She is like the Wordart Whisperer. lol  The gnome image is from Mel Jen's Designs  and the yummy to my tummy cherry pie is from Wax Fruit Company.  I believe the balloon came as a freebie from someplace.  My apologies to the artist.  I have used it quite a bit lately (will tell you about that at a later time).  I truly love that card and the sentiment (as usual) is perfect.  Wouldn't like to get a card that is just for lifting your spirits?  I would. :-D

As you can see, I've been busy. lol  I really did these over a span of time, but am just getting around to posting them.  I do use Paulette's images/wordart a lot, because it is perfect for whatever I am making.  So hop over to Create with TLC and pick up somethings (leave some love if you are snagging freebies).

Whew!!  Okay, I am off to rest my hands.  Too much typing. lol
